Hoosier Authority has scoured the state in search of this season’s top seniors in boys and girls basketball. We’ve compiled a list of our potential picks for the 2009 Indiana All-Star Team and, each Wednesday throughout the season, we’ll introduce you to one of these potential all-stars here on HoosierAuthority.com.
This week we continue the series with Marion’s senior guard Scott Wood. The 6’6” North Carolina State-bound senior averaged 15.7 points a game last year and hit “the shot before the shot” in the 4A state title game. (Wood’s 3-pointer gave Marion the lead with 2.1 seconds left to play before Brownsburg’s Gordon Hayward came back to win the game on a putback at the buzzer.)
Wood is an outstanding outside shooter, having connected on 86 of 194 3-point attempts (44 percent) a year ago. He also scored 33 points this season in then-Class 4A No. 2 Marion’s Dec. 6 loss at 4A top-ranked Lawrence North.
